소셜미디어는 죽었는가?

Original (English)Is Social Media dead?
📝 Summary

Facebook은 점점 더 관련성이 없다고 느끼며, 무언가를 형성하기보다는 반응하는 데 적합한 노후화된 사용자 기반을 갖고 있는 것 같습니다.

Facebook appeals to older types yes but who turns out to vote. don't undermine its influence

I think it depends on the country a lot. I can’t remember the country now but I remember an interview with someone on the news (it might have been after the earthquake in Myanmar now I think about it) saying that FB is used as the main source of all information and that FB is almost interchangeable

Not dead. But we're entering the next stage of the Internet. We've lived through the "amateur" web, the GeoCities, the Netscape, through to the earliest modes of groups and forums (including this old workhorse), and the initial dot-com bubble, into the current social media tail-end. What comes next

📰 Original Post

Obviously, not yet. But...

Facebook feels increasingly irrelevant and seems to have a ageing user base that lends itself to reacting to, rather than shaping, stuff.

Twitter, we all know about.

Threads, Mastodon, Bluesky etc. don't seem to be moving forward with enough momentum or novelty to wield much influence.

TikTok is the big one, right? For now.

But it seems to be changing from the days when Twitter was both a news source and a source of news. Is Facebook still vital enough to swing votes?

Is everybody just getting bored of it all?

I suspect not. I'm probably just out of touch.
